About the course
Curious to try yoga, but unsure where to begin? Join Jen for this 4-week beginner yoga series.
We devised this foundation course for anyone looking for a genuinely accessible, thorough introduction to yoga, or as a refresher to return to regular practice.
Perhaps you have been put off by the speed and size of some group classes, or are unsure of the postures. Perhaps you feel yoga is only for those who are young and flexible! Luckily this is absolutely not true!
We will teach the fundamentals of a balanced yoga practice – postures, breathwork, meditation, relaxation – from scratch, under the watch of a highly trained, experienced teacher.
This January to February course will be led by Jen.
At the end of the course our intention is that you will have practiced the core yoga postures whilst having experienced the calming, centering benefits of other pivotal aspects of yoga such as guided relaxation and meditation.
We hope you will have the confidence to join a regular beginners’ class, and, most importantly, an overwhelmingly positive experience of yoga.
Each class will focus on foundational elements, origin and traditions of Hatha Yoga practise, how to access stillness and awaken inner strength with increased capacity for focus in yoga postures as well as how to implement yoga into our every day lives
In this small-group setting, students will receive individual attention and have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and examine many aspects of this ancient practise
In this series, students will explore:
– breath techniques and meditation
– skeletal alignment for foundational postures
– sun salutations
– breath to movement flow
– modifications and use of props to safely support your unique practice
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. Bring a bottle of water if you’d like.
Course is suitable for everyone, anyone returning from injury is welcome and Jen would be happy to discuss your individual requirements personally prior to series beginning.
Sensitive teaching practises makes this series ideal for beginners, the curious or those wishing to go back to basics and revisit the very foundations of their practise.
